Family House provides supervised visitation, transfers, and other therapeutic services in a caring, home-like environment.

Vision

To create a child-centered, family-focused community.

Mission

To nurture children through healthy family interactions in a safe, home-like environment.

History

In 1981, a group of concerned residents and community leaders established Family House, Inc., in order to provide children from distressed families with a safe, supervised, home-like location to build healthy relationships with their non-custodial parents.

At Family House, we focus on the best interest of the child, who is to spend time with their parent who may have court involvement for a variety of reasons. Some children and families are dealing with a variety of issues. They may have broken relationships with their parents due to family violence, criminal activity/incarceration, or parental addictions. Family House staff provide supervision, intervention and parenting to children and families on site during court ordered services.

Attorneys, social workers, case managers from the Indiana Department of Child Services often refer their clients to Family House, Inc. for “supervised visitation” and “transfer” services.

Talented staff members provide safety and supervision, in-the-moment parenting skills training, family support, and workshops designed to build skills that stop the generational cycles of family violence and repair parent-child relationships.
